Results IoT & AI World Summit Russia 2019

The largest international event dedicated to digital transformation and implementation of artificial intelligence and Internet of things technologies in the work of companies from various sectors of the economy took place in the capital of Tatarstan.

Summit Results

IoT&AI World Summit Russia, organized by REDENEX, was attended by more than 1,500 delegates from 25 countries. IEC “Kazan Expo” gathered representatives of the state and big business, TOP managers of world companies, talented developers and promising digital startups. Visitors of the summit were able to study the best practical cases from the leading speakers, ask questions and find a suitable solution for digitalization in their company. As the summit participants noted, the main result for them was the study of working digital models and technologies that can further optimize costs and quickly increase the profits of their own companies.

Representatives of the government of the Republic also noted the high level of the event. Head of Tatarstan investment development Agency Talia Minullina and Minister of digital development of public administration, information technologies and communications of Tatarstan Ayrat Khairullin were the guests of honor and speakers of the Summit.

TATNEFT became the General innovation partner of the Summit. The speaker of the company, Deputy General Director for digital development Vitaly Gataullin spoke about the prospects for the development of the oil and gas industry.

Art Space

The creative zone of the Summit also enjoyed great success, where took place a master class of the famous science fiction writer Sergey Lukyanenko – the author of many bestsellers, including cult books from the series “Watches”. The author shared his vision of using artificial intelligence and the Internet of things in the future and told the audience about how his bestsellers were created, and what mystical stories happened to him.

Business program

The main business program of the summit was held as useful as possible for the participants and delegates. Leading speakers shared their experience of digital transformation and presented practical cases for each of the sectors of the economy: from oil and gas and automotive to smart cities, housing, retail and energy.

Nick Miesen (managing Director and co-founder of JUGAAD Advanced Analytics, Netherlands) presented the report and answered the most important questions of the participants on creating a transparent supply chain. In his speech, the speaker presented practical examples of companies such as AkzoNobel, Heineken and Air France-KLM.  

Laurent d’Isarny-Gargas (President of GE Digital, UK) discussed in detail the topic of rapid return on investment from the digital transformation of the enterprise.

Special attention was paid to the use of “figures” in the oil and gas industry. Speaker Anosh Thakkar (senior consultant in McKinsey international oil and gas practice, ex-Director of digital technologies at Shell) shared his experience in implementing the components of digital transformation of an industrial enterprise and spoke about ways to measure the effects of digital transformation.

David Yang (founder Yva.ai, USA) spoke about new artificial intelligence technologies and their application to People Analytics to improve leadership practices and efficiency at the corporate level.

The extensive business program of the summit was complemented by an exhibition of new technologies in IoT and AI. Within the exhibition area visitors were waited by special blocks: Ecosystem and technologies, Startup Tech Hub, Digital Lab and Knowledge Center.

The Ecosystem and technologies Stream brought together global vendors with point-to-point and comprehensive solutions for enterprise digitalization.

Startup Tech HUB has become a platform for communication and discussion of business opportunities for innovative startups, accelerators and venture funds.  

Within the framework of the Knowledge Center block, the summit visitors passed training programs, useful trainings and master classes devoted to solutions for digitalization of the enterprise and development of strategies and business models for launching digital projects.

The Digital Lab Space has become the most anticipated area of the exhibition. RIA Novosti presented augmented reality technologies that will help every visitor to the exhibition to look into 2030, when, according to the Russian lunar program, a full-fledged station should appear on the surface of the moon: residential blocks for astronauts, a laboratory, a radiation shelter, an astrophysical Observatory and other infrastructure elements.

Peoplepass has introduced its facial recognition system. it Is one of the most promising methods of biometric contactless identification of a person by face.
